THE PHS/ FLOWER SHOW HISTORY

Since 1829, The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society has been introducing the newest plant varieties and garden and design concepts with sustainable practices at the Flower Show. In addition to presenting these various evolutions in horticultural, the Philadelphia Flower Show has provided a space for artists and educators to install the most mindful exhibits that really capture the individual, connecting us all back to the earth with every textured and aroma filled specimen that is carefully arranged and identified throughout the expansive floor plan of the convention center.

WHAT DO FLOWERS, TREES, PLANTS, AND CANNABIS HAVE IN COMMON?

Smells. As you enter the Flower show, citrus trees, lavender, rosemary, and sage welcome and guide you through this incredible array of colors and scents that occur in nature and transcend into our day to day routines. Whether it is through the food we ingest or the products we use in our beauty regimen, naturally occurring scents and flavors are mimicked throughout our regular consumption needs. These aromatic oils found in herbs, flowers, and plants are called terpenes and when we consider the cannabis plant they are highly regarded in the medicinal effects they produce. Some may provide relaxation and stress relief like lavender or (linalool) while others can promote focus and acuity such as citrus or (limonene).

2020: THE GREEN ROOM

This year we get to take on the gorgeous foliage of the Mediterranean with the theme Riviera Holiday. It’s also the first time a Cannabis exhibit will be at the Philadelphia Flower Show.

The Green Room will showcase a factual journey through this ancient plant medicine with a comprehensive look into the chemical compounds of the cannabis plant that offer so many healing properties to our bodies and mind.
